Locum Radiographers and Sonographers - Recruitment Information

Many radiographers and sonographers choose not to take on permanent positions, but take on jobs as radiography or ultrasound locums. These positions are usually short to medium term (4-12 weeks), but can often extend much longer depending on the employer needs.
Locum positions attract higher levels of remuneration to compensate for the lack of employment features such as annual leave and public holiday leave, and may also include accommodation, travel and living away from home allowances. This type of arrangement seems to be suitable for those radiographers and sonographers from overseas who are travelling around Australia, or young Australians who are saving money for their own trip abroad.
A growing demographic on the locum circuit is the baby boomer generation looking for short term locum positions as they tour Australia, or as a break from their current employmemt while on long service leave.
